Football club and electrical business hope deal will light the way to growth
Commercial partners prepared to commit in the current climate can be found, it seems, with one of Gloucestershire’s biggest football clubs revealing just such a deal.
Forest Green Rovers FC has announced its longest-standing major partner, EESI Group, has signed a two-year extension deal with the club to remain its ‘official electrical partner’.
It is a relationship which started back in 1999 and the firm, which employs just shy of 70 staff at its Stonehouse headquarters, holding the branding rights for the Nailsworth club’s EESI South Stand.
During its long partnership, the electrical, mechanical and maintenance specialists has worked on countless projects for the Club, including the construction of The New Lawn stadium in 2005/2006.
More recently there has been the building of Forest Green’s matchday control room and installation of CCTV monitoring to EFL standards, new Gym Bar and upgraded F&B Outlets, whilst continuing to provide ongoing maintenance.
Dale Vince, chairman of Forest Green Rovers and founder of Stroud-based green electricity company, Ecotricity, said: “I’m chuffed that EESI has renewed thier sponsorship of the club, they’re an important part of our team - and it’s something we really appreciate in the current uncertain environment for all businesses.
“We’re looking forward to the new season with the EESI South Stand and the push for promotion to League One."
Mike Gardiner, who founded EESI in 1994 and last year saw it win the Gloucestershire Business Awards, said: “At EESI we have been proud to support our local team through sponsorship for many years and see Forest Green Rovers grow into a national team.
“We are delighted to remain official electrical partner and sponsor of the South Stand. We hope to keep our special relationship with FGR for many years to come.”
EESI has clients across the county and works in sectors including engineering and manufacturing, food and beverage, warehouse and logistics, education, power generation, oil and gas, retail and heritage properties and estates.
