If you feel Gloucestershire, and in particular Gloucester, Cheltenham, the Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury and the Cotswolds, looked particularly clean and presentable in 2023 Raikes may just know why.
After looking at the latest financial report from Ubico, the multi-million pound turnover business and major county employer, there seems sufficient evidence to direct considerable praise in its direction.
According to Cheltenham company, whose very mission statement is "to keep spaces and places clean and green for every resident, visitor, town, village and community", it increased collections by more than seven million in its last financial year to 43.4 million.
The increased activity is also reflected in two other key figures we think are worth mentioning – a sizeable increase in both jobs and turnover. It is all part of what makes the firm one of the biggest 100 in the county by turnover, and part of Raikes’ rolling Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire listing.
