Top 100: Serious semi-conductor shortage fails to put the brakes on car maker

The white-label manufacturer of body parts for some of the world’s most famous marques continues to invest in its Brockworth plant, revealing that despite “difficult trading conditions” in its last financial year there were plenty of positives.
Those trading conditions, said Japanese-owned G-TEKT Europe Manufacturing (G-TEM), were created in large part by a world-wide shortage of semiconductors which continued for most of its year ending 31 March 2023 - “resulting in reduced vehicle build volumes and delayed introduction of new models”.
Turnover was up, however, and it is its turnover figure which helps make the firm one of the biggest 100 in the county by turnover, and part of Raikes’ rolling Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire listing.
