For a firm started on a kitchen table a couple of decades ago to reach £60 million turnover is impressive enough, but ProCook the now public company has revealed plans to dwarf that figure.

A marginal increase in its £60 million turnover says more about the market conditions and belies the sheer optimism at ProCook, as the firm also reveals it is well positioned to take advantage of a “significant opportunity for growth”.

The high street and on-line cookware retailer founded in Gloucestershire by Daniel O’Neil, who took the company public in 2021, has been battling the difficult market conditions all retailers have faced resulting from the cost of living crisis.

But it now feels in a solid enough position to reveal a bold plan that will see it target £100 million turnover, achieved through opening more shops and using AI to make its processes even more efficient.

Chief executive officer, Lee Tappenden, joined the firm in September 2023 with O’Neil moving to a non-executive role as the senior team worked on”strategic priorities and direction” and built on the “open and ambitious culture built by Daniel over the years”.And it is thriving in a market where its customers demand not just great service but to know the provenance and environmental impact of everything.
