Top 100: Investment in new products continue despite challenging market
Headlines might shout about a dip in turnover and a focus on staff costs, but new products and serious investment in research and development continue at ever-innovative engineering giant Renishaw.
* The Reports & Deals section of Raikes is also home to its star attraction, the perpetual Top 100-plus Businesses in Gloucestershire list - which tracks the financial fortunes of the county’s biggest firms by turnover. We would like to thank the generous support of our partners - who we will be revealing over the coming weeks - our founding members' and our paid-up subscribers. A massive ‘thank you’ to all our other subscribers too. The support of all of you is invaluable! If you are not already, please consider upgrading to paid (just £2.30 a week!) and making this community interest company sustainable. Contact andrew.merrell@raikesjournal.co.uk.
We know as well as anyone that the easiest headlines to grab attention are those that talk about money – like the millions of pounds wiped off turnover (relatively speaking) in the last quarter at Renishaw.
If we began instead by telling you about how it continues to produce new and exciting products and already shows growth, how research and development spend is up, staff pay is up and investment in early years staff also continues, we might have lost you.
If we haven’t - lost you, that is – then you’ll hopefully stay with us. And we’ll begin by telling you about that money.
