Markey Group’s managing director, Paul Markey

If you wanted more proof of the impact of the ambitions of the three universities of Gloucestershire on the county’s economic growth then we have it for you here.

A group of businesses run by the Markey family happens to include the supply of student accommodation for Gloucestershire’s growing universities within its portfolio - and its latest financial report reveals the scale of its success.

In fact, the Markey Group declared itself ‘pleased’ with progress in all its divisions, which also include the manufacture and supply of kitchens, property development, providing services to the construction industry and agency services for the sale of retirement apartments.

Its annual report, for the year ending 31 March 2023, firmly cements its place in Raikes’ rolling Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire series, which follows the fortunes of the biggest firms in the county by turnover.
