The simplest steps you can take to helping Raikes achieve its mission statement - to champion Gloucestershire, with a keen focus on its business community and vital charity, volunteering, education and training sectors - is as follows…

Sign up to our email journals as a paid-member.

If you become a paid-for subscriber you’ll get access to the main stories on two extra email newsletters a week, access beyond the paywall on any of our stories - including Raikes’ perpertual Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire series in the Reports & Deals channel - access to all our archive (all our stories paywall after two weeks) and the ability to comment on all stories and to influence our direction of travel.

This will cost you £12 a month or £100 a year (that’s £1.92 per week). Or you can pay it forward as a Founding Member and go for £250 a year as an extra pledge of support for what we are trying to achieve! To help create community, a sense of place and of pride in Gloucestershire - and to restore community journalism in the county.

Discount for groups?

Groups of two or more from the same organisation get 25 per cent off when they buy two or more subscriptions at once. Organisations partnering with Raikes or paying for more than one article can also cut a deal on the annual subscription too!

Our partners are vital to making Raikes tick and were the seed-funding that got us off the runway and airborne across Gloucestershire. Lavish as much money on as as you want - but a true partnership, which includes a mention on every story and newsletter we run crediting your help with making it happen, starts from £3,000. Pay more and you get more - more being stories we can write for you, campaigns we can create, social media and events we can share and feature on our newsletters and our own social media.

Become a supporter

You won’t have the status of a partner, but if you become a ‘micro investor’ you will be helping propel us towards sustainability, and providing community journalism for Gloucestershire long-term.

Raikes is editorially-led. We don’t write advertorials, but you can hire us to write about you, tease out your news story, work out a way of presenting the messages you are interested in as part of an article on you, your business, your training, you charity. One story (at least 750 words) with professional photography is £600, two stories (£1,000), three (£1,500), four is £2,000 - and for an extra £1,000 (£3,000 in total) you become a Partner - you will be mentioned on every single story and newsletter, we’ll agree a deal on story count and newsletter mentions ref events, socials, announcements with links.

A simple advert

You can run a simple 200 word of copy and an image on one of our newsletters. For example, if you have an announcement to make, an event to promote, a show to sell tickets for, an offer on at your company too good to miss, come to us. A link from the copy can take readers to more information on your website or social media. You can book this for a single newsletter, for a week (all three newsletters) or once a week for a month - that’s four inserts. That works out as £200 for one feature, £400 for the week, or £500 for the month.

Showcase your social media posts on our newsletters

We will pick out one or more of your social media posts, write 200 words on why we like it and what it’s all about, and post it along with the image on our newsletters - linking out to your original post - driving traffic to where it counts and helping your news reach a wider community. As with the simple ‘advert’ mentioned above, you can book this for a single newsletter, for a week (all three newsletters) or once a week for a month - that’s four inserts. That works out as £200 for one feature, £400 for the week, or £500 for the month.

This could be our Reports & Deals channel contains Raikes sought after rolling Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire archive, a perpetually updating series of articles on the biggest firms in Gloucestershire by turnover - with an annual listing of all those firms, ranked in order of size. The channel also features any of other financial reports we found interesting or deals we thought you needed to know about.

These stories also feature on our main newsletters. Or you could sponsor our Cyber channel - a unique collection of stories relating to the cyber sector, and firms involved in AI, deep tech, future and quantum computing.
