Top 100: Rising costs dents profits as car dealership passes £210m turnover
"The overall profit from new cars was as good as it has ever been" according to the Cotswold Motor Group, which saw a 13 per cent rise in just that in its last financial year.

Known for its eye-catching multi-storey glass-walled headquarters beside the Golden Valley, Cotswold Motor Group also operates a chain of quality used car outlets in the county and beyond.
Ironically it is partly the rising costs and difficulty sourcing spares for vehicles that has also worked in its favour, driving the prices of the used car market on which it also relies towards record highs.
The business, known for the Mini and BMW marques and which employs 300 staff, said it was salaries and other operating costs that had 'driven profits back from the record level set in 2021'.
But despite what the company called the 'challenges and opportunities' created by supply issues, its figures only pointed in one direction.
