Top 100: Turnover surges for oil and gas firm
You may not have thought production at oil and gas fields in nations like Saudi Arabia depended on a Gloucestershire firm, but it does – and it’s doing really rather well out of the relationship.
Dear Reader,
We hope you’ve had a great week. Welcome to a members only edition of The Raikes Journal.
Friday is when we deliver our weekly round-up alongside one or two other stories, and diary dates, all behind the paywall that helps make us sustainable. And speaking of just that...
We’ve spent some of today working on a feature we hope to run next week announcing another Founding Partner. For us, that is super exciting – not least because it helps make sustainable what we are doing, and it gives us the opportunity to look under the bonnet of an exceptional Gloucestershire business.
We’re also working on another story for you in which we will unveil plans to spend £40 million creating some of the very best facilities in the UK right here in Gloucestershire. We can’t tell you any more at the moment I am afraid – despite this being a members-only edition!
If you would like to be featured on Raikes, or think you have a good story we should be looking into, please do let us know. If it’s investigative, all the better!
Which just leaves us to say a massive ‘thank you’ to you all – paid-for subscribers or not – for taking an interest in what we do. Please do spread the word – and if you are not yet signed up to subscribe, please do join us. You’ll get at least three emails a week (usually on Monday, Thursday and Friday) as well as our occasional Saturday big reads – one of which we have planned for tomorrow on the NHS in Gloucestershire!
Have a great weekend.

Today’s charity story
🎯 We couldn’t resist celebrating this one! This was Randall & Payne’s darts event to raise funds for its charity of the year, Teckels Animal Sanctuary. It took place last night at the firm’s headquarters at Chargrove House, off the Shurdington Road, and saw eleven teams battle for glory. When the scores were added up and the trophies given out Teckels, which is based in Whitminster and looks after and rehomes dogs and cats, benefitted to the tune of £395. You can see more images from the event and find out who won here.
We’ve locked everything else below this line we are afraid, for the benefit of our paying members. Included is a news roundup, picture story celebrating a fast-growing county firm and our latest Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire.
