At 5am on Monday 28 July, Kieran Bradley, an auditor at Gloucestershire-based accountants Randall & Payne, will begin an extraordinary five-day challenge — running 15 miles to work each day from his home in Nailsworth to the company’s offices on the outskirts of Cheltenham.
This demanding 75-mile feat is all in support of Mind, the UK mental health charity that provides crucial services to those experiencing mental health challenges.
A keen runner who has previously taken part in events such as Run Cheltenham and the Gloucester 10K, Bradley was inspired to take his passion to the next level following a recent race.
Initially planning to complete the challenge with a colleague, he has chosen to go it alone after his running partner (Rob Case, also a partner at the Shurdington firm) sustained an injury prior to the challenge.
“This is about pushing myself physically and mentally, but also about raising awareness and funds for a charity that supports so many people,” said Bradley.
“Mental health affects us all in some way, whether directly or through loved ones, and Mind’s work is essential.”
Mind offers support through crisis helplines, online resources, therapy access, and campaigns aimed at improving mental health care across the UK.
Bradley’s goal is not only to raise funds but also to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental wellbeing in the workplace and beyond.
Balancing his full-time job with this physically intense challenge, Bradley has been training rigorously and preparing every detail, from route planning and nutrition to recovery strategies like icepacks in the office and transport home after work.
“Kieran’s determination and resilience are inspiring,” said Tim Watkins, managing partner at Randall & Payne.
“We are incredibly proud of him and fully behind his effort to support such a meaningful cause.”
Bradley will cover nearly the distance of three full marathons in just five days, demonstrating both physical endurance and deep commitment to making a difference.
