i2i Recruitment named official recruitment partner of Gloucester Rugby
Cheltenham-based i2i Recruitment and Gloucester Rugby have announced a new multi-year partnership.
i2i Recruitment has become Gloucester Rugby’s Official Recruitment Partner, supporting the Club’s recruitment needs across permanent and casual positions at Kingsholm.
The partnership will also see i2i Recruitment gain branding presence around the stadium and become player sponsor of Gloucester Rugby and England U20 lock, Freddie Ogden-Metherell.
For i2i Recruitment, the partnership represents more than a commercial relationship. As a certified B Corp and one of Gloucestershire’s leading independent recruitment agencies, the business is committed to creating opportunities for local people and supporting organisations across the region to attract and retain talented individuals.
Alongside helping employers recruit successfully, i2i Recruitment actively works with schools, colleges and universities across Gloucestershire to support young people as they explore future career pathways.
The company regularly engages with organisations including Dean Close School, Cheltenham Bournside School, Balcarras School, Hartpury University and College, and the University of Gloucestershire.
A particularly personal connection also sits at the heart of the partnership.
Freddie Ogden-Metherell, son of i2i Recruitment founders Richard and Charlie Ogden-Metherell, progressed through the Gloucester Rugby Academy before recently representing England at the World Rugby U20 Championship.
His journey reflects many of the values shared by both organisations, including dedication, teamwork, development and achieving success through hard work.
Richard Ogden-Metherell, Chief Executive Officer at i2i Recruitment, said: “We are delighted for i2i Recruitment to become Gloucester Rugby’s Official Recruitment Partner.
As two organisations with deep roots in Gloucestershire, this partnership represents more than a commercial relationship. It is about bringing together two trusted brands that share a commitment to developing talent, supporting local businesses and making a positive impact within our community.
“At i2i Recruitment, people are at the heart of everything we do. Whether we are helping businesses find exceptional talent or supporting individuals in taking the next step in their careers, our focus has always been on creating opportunities and building long-term relationships.
“Gloucester Rugby embodies many of those same values, from nurturing future stars through its academy system to engaging and inspiring communities across the county.
“This partnership is particularly meaningful for our family. Watching Freddie progress through the Gloucester Rugby Academy and recently represent England at Under-20 level has given us a first-hand appreciation of the dedication, support and opportunities that Gloucester Rugby provides to young people.
“To now see i2i Recruitment partnering with a club that has played such an important role in Freddie’s development makes this an incredibly proud moment for both our family and our business.
“We are excited about what we can achieve together and look forward to supporting the growth, success and future aspirations of the Gloucestershire community for many years to come.”
Elizabeth Davis, head of HR at Gloucester Rugby, added: “We’re delighted to welcome i2i Recruitment as our Official Recruitment Partner. Their strong reputation across Gloucestershire and shared focus on people make them an excellent fit for the Club.
“We look forward to working together to attract great talent and support the continued growth of Gloucester Rugby.”
The partnership further strengthens i2i Recruitment’s commitment to supporting opportunity, skills development and economic growth throughout Gloucestershire, while helping one of the county’s most recognised sporting organisations continue to attract talented individuals on and off the field.
