How you can support Raikes' mission
Raikes is here to tell Gloucestershire's stories, to help build community, celebrate achievement and showcase individuals and organisations making a difference. Here's how you can help make it happen.
More on membership?
You can subscribe to Raikes for £12.50 a month - or for a year for £120. That’s just 33 pence a day to support and celebrate your community. Groups of two or more who sign up at once get a 25 per cent discount on an annual subscription too.
And if you like the idea so much you can become a ‘founding member’, which is where you pledge more than £120 a year (see our subscriptions page). If you sign up for £250 or more we will write a few words about you, your business, or maybe an event you are staging/an achievement you’ve made/a fundraising push you are launching, and run it with a picture on our email newsletters for a week (all three newsletters).
We want you to think of paying for that subscription like crowdfunding. You are not just buying a service, you are making everything Raikes does possible and helping us achieve our ultimate goal - to build a community website shaped by that very community to promote community.
Members will get not just access to the main stories on two extra emails a week, but members can also comment on our stories and influence our direction of travel. Members can see beyond the paywalls we put on certain stories too, which means they can see our Raikes’ rolling Top 100 Businesses in Gloucestershire series, our ever-updating series following the fortunes of the county’s biggest 100 firms by turnover.

* Everything you read on The Raikes Journal was made possible by the generous support of our lead partner, Willans, and other key partners, Gloucestershire College and Merrell People, as well as all its paid-up subscribers for making this possible. And a massive ‘thank you’ to all our subscribers for your invaluable support too!
🔓 You can read free of charge across much of The Raikes Journal, but some of our stories are available in their entirety only to paid-up subscribers - who enjoy the privilege for what amounts to as little as £1.92 a week (£100 a year), or £12 a month. In doing so they are helping this website exist, grow and achieve its aims - to champion Gloucestershire’s business community, its charities and vital education and training sector, to help bring people together, make connections and build an even stronger community. They are also helping support the renaissance of high-quality journalism in Gloucestershire - and for all that we are truly grateful.
