Persimmon Homes Severn Valley has donated £1,500 to the Nelson Trust, a leading charity in the South West of England and Wales, dedicated to supporting thousands of individuals every year.
The donation was made as part of the five-star developer’s Community Champions programme, which sees £700,000 spent on good causes and much-valued organisations across Britain each year.
Through their community services and women’s centres, residential rehabilitation, and social enterprises, the Nelson Trust provides a holistic, trauma-informed approach that fosters belief, hope, and lasting recovery for those affected by substance use and multiple disadvantages such as domestic violence, involvement in the justice system and trauma.
The donation will go towards facilitating travel for education, training, and volunteering for those the Trust works with as part of its holistic approach to rehabilitation.
Persimmon Homes recently broke ground on its site in Kingswood, Wooton-under-Edge. The showhome for the 54-home development will be launching later this summer. Prices for the two, three, and four-bed homes will be available soon.
The homes will feature solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, while the development will contribute £218,000 towards secondary education and £10,600 towards local libraries as part of the developer’s community financial contributions.
Other recent local Community Champions donations include Stroud District Food Bank.
Carly Spear, Persimmon Homes Severn Valley sales director, said: “The Nelson Trust does some excellent works across the Severn Valley and beyond, so make for ideal recipients of our Community Champions funding.
“As a proud, responsible developer, Persimmon always seeks to leave a positive and lasting legacy in the areas in which we build, and lending a hand to a charity like the Nelson Trust is an essential part of our commitment to those communities.”
Christina Line, CEO designate of the Nelson Trust, said: “We are extremely thankful to Persimmon Homes Community Champions for their generous donation of £1,500.
“This support strengthens our commitment to uplifting our community. Every donation and recognition drives us forward in our mission to create meaningful change in people’s lives.”
Persimmon supports local communities through our Community Champions programme, donating £750,000 each year, and our Building Futures scheme with its donations of over £1 million.
