A charity from the north of England has praised Gloucestershire accountants Hazlewoods for making its ambitious expansion plans possible by enabling its takeover of a multi-million pound care business.
The Gloucestershire accountant's corporate finance team and business experts made possible social care charity We Change Lives' acquisition of £3.8 million turnover residential care business 3L Care Group.
The deal adds two homes in Winsford, Cheshire and one in Atherton, Wigan, to WCL's portfolio, taking its total number of residential homes to 13 and staff numbers to 275.
Richard Dade, a partner at Hazlewoods, which provided financial and taxation due diligence, said: "3L Care Group represents a really important strategic acquisition for WCL, as it looks to expand both the range of services offered and its geographical footprint.
"We look forward to continuing to support WCL with their growth strategy."
Bolton-headquartered WCL supports people with dementia, autism, learning disabilities and mental health issues and is described as one of the largest not-for-profit care providers in Cheshire, looking after 425 people.
Its services are commissioned by local authorities, NHS integrated care partnerships and private clients.
Phil Sermon, WCL chief executive, said the deal was part of the firm's five-year strategy to expand its geographic and service footprint.
