Constractor named for multi-million housing development in Cheltenham
Cheltenham Borough Council has named the contractor who will lead a project to backed by £2.8 million from Homes England to build homes off Swindon Road in the town.

The site at 320 Swindon Road is on track to be bought back to life, thanks to £2.8 million in funding approved by Homes England.
To help deliver this ambitious scheme, Cheltenham Borough Council has appointed multi award winning contractor, Speller Metcalfe to lead the project.
This marks a significant step forward in the council’s commitment and drive to bring more affordable housing to the town.
"The upcoming development will consist of 24 high quality, affordable new homes and will see the site regenerated to bring life to the existing neighbourhood.
Local residents can look forward to green outside spaces, which has been put aside for trees and greenery to thrive.
Room has also been made available for hedgehog highways, including bat, bee and bird boxes to allow wildlife to flourish too.
The development at 320 Swindon will deliver 17 apartments and 7 houses, available through social rent and shared ownership.
“The new homes have also been designed with sustainability in mind and will include, solar panels, green roofs and low carbon construction to provide a more natural living environment and a high environmental performance.
Councillor Alisha Lewis, cabinet member for major developments and housing delivery, said: “This is a great milestone and a wonderful opportunity to bring a former disused brownfield site back to life.
“We’re delivering sustainable homes that are affordable not just to buy or rent but to live in day to day - saving people money and the planet.”
