Industrial unit turns out to be secret cannabis factory
Investigations are said to be ongoing after police shut down a cannabis factory at a Gloucestershire industrial unit.
It is understood that more than 350 plants were seized as a result of the raid at the building in a town in the Forest of Dean.
According to Gloucestershire Constabulary officers investigated after they were “informed that a strong smell had been coming from the unit, which was rented, and the owner noticed a sudden increase in electric bills”.
A statement from the police said: “The local policing team attended and more than 350 plants were discovered, as well as two beds suggesting people had been living inside the unit.
“No-one was there when police arrived and no arrests have been made at this stage with the investigation ongoing.
“The find was dismantled after it was made safe by electricians.”
As part of the investigations anyone with information is being asked to call 101 and quote incident 75 of 4 August.
