New partner leads raft of appointments as law firm expands

Expansion sees five new legal experts join the ranks of a leading Gloucestershire headquartered law firm, and a new partner join the top tier of the business. 

Suzanne O’Riordan, who has been with the firm for more than 20 years, is the new partner, not to mentioned already well-establishedin the county for her conveyancing expertise. 

She has led the firm’s residential property team in recent years and now brings the number of partners at Willans to 12.   

The Legal 500 and Chambers-rated firm has also further strengthened its private client and commercial offerings with five other appointments.

Solicitor Tom O’Riordan (pictured immediately above) re-joins Willans’ wills, trusts & probate team after working at Lodders. The firm also welcomes private client executive Sian Devereux-Renny, further expanding one of the largest private client teams in the county 

From Tayntons, solicitor James Melvin-Bath (pictured below) is appointed to the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution team, alongside solicitor Jessica Whooley (pictured immediately below) who joins from Porter Dodson.

The department works with businesses and individuals, advising on the full range of disputes from those relating to property and inheritance through to contracts and intellectual property.  

Over in the firm’s well-respected residential property arm, conveyancing specialist Jade Blackwell joins from Hughes Paddison as a legal executive to help meet ever-growing client demand. 

She brings particular expertise in the purchase of new-build retirement properties.

The news comes as two of the firm’s partners are noted in the latest edition of Chambers High Net Worth - an independent legal guide for high-net-worth individuals - for the second year running. Litigation and dispute resolution partner Paul Gordon and wills, trusts and probate partner Simon Cook have both been recommended in the prestigious guide.  

Willans offers legal advice to businesses, individuals, charities and not-for-profit organisations, based locally, nationally and internationally. The Gloucestershire-based firm, which was established in 1947, employs around 80 people.
