Gloucester and Shakespeare connection revealed by housebuilder

A £5.7 million housing development with a difference has completed at Hunts Grove in Gloucester.

Platform Housing Group’s 30-unit scheme near Kingsway is a mix of two and three-bedroom homes for shared ownership, as well as two-bedroom flats for rent to buy.

The Worcester headquartered business worked with West Midlands law firm Shakespeare Martineau on the deal under the guidance Joanna Deffley, a partner in the firm’s real estate team.

Ms Deffley, said: “The completion of this scheme is extremely positive news for affordable housing development in the area and indicates positive movement in the market following a stutter at the start of lockdown.”

The Hunts Grove site is the second completion that the firm has worked on with the Midlands-based housing association, following a 50-unit deal at Burleyfields, in Stafford, earlier this year.

Platform Housing Group is described as one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands, with around 1,200 staff, over 120,000 customers and 47,153 homes in its portfolio.
