Video: Diane Savory, on what the Cheltenham Economic Recovery Task Force can do for Gloucestershire

“It is about making sure Cheltenham does not just survive but thrives. It is about all of Gloucestershire,” said DianeSavory.

She was talking about the Cheltenham Economic Recovery Task, underlining that like the local enterprise partnership, GFirst LEP, which she also chairs, it is about the whole of Gloucestershire.

The task force was announced just last month, alongside the new We’re Moving to Cheltenham Campaign, with the former gathering business people together to look at the town’s economic recovery from the pandemic.

The latter, to seize the narrative around Cheltenham, and re-tell it, as a vibrant, ‘can-do’, culturally rich county town.

Dr Savory, OBE, was talking to Dan Harris as part of the Chamber of Commerce’s regular Hot Topic video feature.

“It is about ensuring a joined-up approach to recovery. We can only do that by working together and that is very much about bringing our business together and being business-led, very much like the local enterprise partnership does. We lead from real voices as to what real recovery should look like.

"But this is Cheltenham. We should not forget this is not all about business - it is about culture as well, which is so important for our town."
