Cheltenham Chamber Hot Topic: How £21.7m was delivered to Cheltenham businesses through the lockdown
Every month Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce takes on a hot topic - filmed and delivered to keep members up to speed on key issues and events in the town.
This month (June) the chamber's Dan Harris talks looks at how the borough council countered "the remarkable speed of the Coronavirus" with its own "rapid response in implementing the government's financial support programmes to businesses".
Paul Jones, the council's executive director, finance and assets, explains how it has managed to deliver almost £4 million to 230 businesses by the end of March and to date some £21 million plus to 1,741 businesses. And he explains why it has not given up trying to find still more companies to support.
