Taste of Rome comes to Stroud’s new food market

Two more local food traders are on the menu at the new Borough Market-inspired indoor market at Five Valleys in Stroud.

Non Solo Pasta and Callaghin’s Kitchen are already open for business at the new market in what was called Merrywalks Shopping Centre.

Matteo Conte and Clara Cardillo, a young couple from the south of Rome who relocated to Cirencester, founded Non Solo Pasta in 2018.

According to Dransfield Properties, which owns and runs the centre, “the couple are passionate about serving authentic, traditional Italian food including award winning Arancini, pasta dishes, desserts and vegan options for both take away or eat in”.

Callaghin’s Kitchen, another local family business, also joins the market this week headed up by Emma Callaghin from Cashes Green.

Callaghin’s Kitchen will serve a full range of vegan-friendly smoothies, sweet Belgian waffles, fruit juices, milkshake, ice lattes and more.

In the coming months the Five Valleys Market will also introduce Falafel Mama, Gateway to India, Pershore Seafood, Pieminister, The Lilypad Florist, Thai 2 Go and Xocolatl.

Dionne Moore, centre manager of Five Valleys, said: “We are delighted to be working with so many local businesses to deliver the very best food offering in our area.”
